The intro to an article entitled INSTANT CARIBBEAN states "Our vacations have shrunk to 2.7 days, so how do we get a tropical fix? By minimizing air time. Ten handy islands get nonstop U.S. flights, and Ted Botha led an invasion that put
them to the fly-in/have-fun/fly-out test. ... American Airlines, BWIA, Continental, and US Airways flynon-stop from New York and Miami to Princess Juliana Airport which is on the Dutch side, about an hour's drive from Grand Case, and worth the trip. The little-known Boulevard de Grand Case has galleries, boutiques, and about 20 restaurants that thrive day and night. Top marks go to Rainbow Caf, a fabulous, if pricy, award winner. Its new upstairs room, with its red-washed walls, has become the new after-hours hot spot."

"WELCOME TO MY HAREM: Forgot to make a reservation at Grand Case's popular
Rainbow restaurant? Climb the winding stairs to the new pink-and-red "harem", dimly lit by an eclectic row of lamps.Since Rainbow boasts the best sea-view deck in town, you won't get frustrated if you have to wait for seating (but your scallops with curried fruit salsa and parmesan cheese/onion crusted red snapper will be worth the wait)." See our weddings page for photos of the deck and the view. |

"The Caribbeans's best crme brle? Don't rule out St. Martin, where the cuisine, like the sensibility, is French, a place for people who regard a day at the beach as preparation for dinner. You can find crme brle and other delicacies on the west coast in the town of Grand Case at the popular Rainbow Caf. Rainbow sits along the beach ..., at the end of a row of good restaurants. Dinners are served on blue and white tablecloths, accompanied by views of Anguilla and sounds of the sea." |

"Of Grand Case's many restaurants, Rainbow will win your heart with the freshest seafood (try it West Indian style, with onions and peppers) and a waterside setting" |

"Our favorite (restaurant) was the Rainbow in Grand Case. The escargot was divine, the rack of lamb the best we ever had, and the Tarte Tatin and profiteroles are to die for. The lapping waves on the shore and the twinkling lights of Anguilla across the water make for a heavenly evening (or two or three) of fine dining." |

"Book the latest possible dinner reservation -- tennish -- at white and sapphire Rainbow and request a table with a view of Grand Case Bay in the starlight. Then what'll it be? Warm sweetbread salad? Roast duckling with calvados?" Island style grilled lobster? Tuna in a spicy Creole sauce? |

Concerning Grand Case, they said "Rainbow, a pricey top-flight 66-seat restaurant smack dab on the water is a linchpin of this unusual restaurant scene. The decor is casual chic as as the sea and sand, down to the blue-and-white-check tablecloths and white Villeroy and Boch china. But the contemperary French cuisine in thisair setting is white cloth stuff as fine as you'd find in a more formal dining room in the heart of France." |

"At the Rainbow in Grand Case. We enjoyed one of the most memorable continental meals in our life at this sparkling white eatery on St Martin's gourmet row." |

"A fantastic little restaurant that should not be missed on any trip to
St Martin. The lovely dining room overlooking Grand Case Bay merely sets the stage for the fusion of French, Caribbean, and Asian influences. The excellent wines complemented the meal perfectly and the service could not have been better." |

"There are many other fine restaurants on this island. You'd need a month or more to sample some of the best: Rainbow is superb." |
